Dabchick – Midsummer 2019 Results

Congratulations Chris Faulkner – a ‘Major’ Winner again!

Firstly the weather was similar to most of the fields golf, some great spells of sunshine mixed with several small showers just to annoy people! However overall not a problem, a beautiful course and golf were on offer at the recent Dabchicks Midsummer Open event.

The 2nd ‘Major’ of our golf year was again held at the beautiful Manor House Golf Course, Castle Combe, again well received by all participants with many acknowledging that it’s one of the best courses they have played and it looks like a venue we will look to secure again next year.

A total of 13 golfers took up the challenege to compete for the title which is a healthy number particularly given a few of the regulars were unable to attend for a variety of reasons. John Bulson playing in his 1st Dabchick ‘Major’ certainly looks a potential future winner with 12 points through the 1st 4 holes, and it may be Matt Reynolds next time around (if only the scores on 15-18 didn’t count!)

The results.

Encouraged from his outing in the early season Chris Faulkner took his chance and won the Midsummer title with a superb 38 points, playing off 10. Second place was Darrell Procter with 36 points playing off 10 – well played gents, and congratulations on joining Clive Snashall and Carl McCulloch in qualifying for the end of season finals day.

And our other winners.

Pete Keen was just delighted to retain his favourite TROPHY!

Nearest the pin on the 2nd was Dave Newham, Nearest the pin on the 17th was Sue Barrett, muscles with the longest drive on the 15th and also taking the nearest the Pin in 2 on the 8th was Carl McCulloch, Well done all.

Thanks again to all who attended and I look forward to welcoming you at the next event Friday 26th July at Cumberwell Park
